Cowslip
Workshops can be found down an exciting farm lane, on a small
'passionately run' organic farm, adjacent to Launceston
Golf course with stunning views of the Tamar Valley and Launceston
Castle.
Dartmoor to the left and Bodmin moor to the right... provide
ever changing thought provoking views beyond.. Launceston is
an interesting market town 'the gateway to Cornwall'
only 30 mins from the coast, it has a friendly atmosphere, and
plenty of ancient history.
The Colwill family have farmed at Newhouse for 98 years. Steve
runs the farm and enjoys doing the milking and takes pride in
his animals..... he also finds time to make a little real 'cider'
using the traditional age old oak press.
Jo has worked with textiles all her life, and has designed and
made many patchwork quilts, she loves animals/ country life,
homemaking, and sharing her creative skills. With this in mind,
the shop, workshops/weekly classes activities and exhibitions
have been carefully built up over the past 12 years, offering
students the best tutors, working environment, quality relaxation
time and sense of achievement plus an excellent range of country
fabrics.
The combination of a tranquil setting and attention to every
detail is a fundamental part of Cowslip policy.
Classes and Workshops are held in the purpose built workroom
which has a light and airy, inspirational atmosphere, good table
space, plenty of books and information. 8 - 14 spaces are available
according to space required by students and tutors. Hot or cold
drinks are included in the course fee. A simple 'workshop lunch'
is available made from fresh local produce (as organic as possible),
which caters for vegetarians, but students are welcome to bring
their own if preferred. |
