Quilts from the Attic
|
Sue Hazell
Fee: £69.00

6 weeks starts Wednesday 15th September
10.00am - 12.30pm
Step back in time and make a quilt that is reminiscent of the 1930’s or earlier. Our ancestors quilts were made of what was available, but they seem to capture a naïve simplicity, which a lot of us try to recreate. The designs were often simple, such as Dresden Plate, Double Wedding Ring, Grandmothers Fan, simple appliqué butterflies and flowers, or even the simple nine patch . Come along and incorporate your grannies scrap bag with a selection of fabrics that we have chosen to recreate the look and feel of a wonderful old quilt; made probably purely by instinct, possibly at an early sewing bee !! PLEASE NOTE - no class October 20th (last class 27th October).
