Friendly Dressmaking

Judy Picot
Fee: £69.00
4 weeks starts Thursday 16th September
7.00pm–9.30pm

In four evenings make a simple top, skirt or dress. Students will be shown how to adjust and use patterns, cutting and simple construction techniques. Some patterns will be available to use but may need to be shared. Students may prefer to purchase their own prior to the sessions. An economical way to do this is to visit
www.sewingpatterns.com. Would beginners please select patterns that they do not have to set in sleeves and fastenings and choose easy to sew fabrics. Old hands may wish to choose more complicated patterns and winter weight fabrics.
A good way to begin dressmaking is to learn to alter clothes and make them fit properly, or add designer detailing to ordinary garments to make them special.
Some sewing between classes will be needed. Further details available after registration.
