Appliqué quilts have a very special charm, whether large, simple naive blocks or complex Baltimore. I will start by explaining template-free methods and help students to either repeat simple blocks or design their own appliqué quilt using paste-ups. Suitable for beginners or those with a project in hand, traditional calico or small print background or appliqué looks stunning on a dark ground. This does not necessarily mean a complicated quilt, simple shapes can make a really effective quilt, and some piecing can be combined with appliqué. New students welcome or come and continue with your existing projects. (Bring working lunch).
