The Cowslip shop is a treasure trove of top quality fabrics including Moda, Rowan/Kaffe Fasset, Fossil Fern and Bali Batiks, flannel, plaids and checks and even boiled wool, plus an ever increasing range of linens from 80/20% to lovely Irish Dublin Linen or Shabby Chic. I try to choose only very good quality fabrics and being a quilter myself, get so excited about new deliveries, as finding just the right piece of fabric can make all the difference to the finished quilt. We make an average price for all the fabrics and try to be generous with cutting and as competitive as possible. We are always pleased to help with choosing fabric or working out amounts, but if you want help from Jo it is possibly a good idea to ring beforehand, to make sure she is not out on her broomstick!

We stock hand and machine sewing threads, including Aurafil, YLI, Mettler and Gütermann, as well as Cotton Perle No. 8 and Coton à Broder No. 16 embroidery and quilting threads. We also stock Hobbs and Fairfield cotton wadding (including extra wide), plus calico, muslin, linen, lawn, fleece, Stayflex, Bondaweb and plastic coated fabrics. We also stock Clover accessories and all sorts of sewing goods.

A good selection of tutorial books, illustrated House and Lifestyle, Rowan knitting books, patchwork magazines and greetings cards, with many of the cards handmade by local artists.

Everything in the shop has a slightly Rustic or 'farm' feel and I try to sell as much work by local or UK Artists and Fairtrade, including willow work, textile jewellery, fabric bags and knitted Rag Bags, plus textile pictures by local artists. We stock pottery by Nicholas Mosse, Stephen & Jane Baughan and Susie Watson Designs. We always have a small selection of quilts and handmade cushions on display and are pleased to make anything to order, but if sewn by hand it does take time.
