Cowslip Workshops is a unique place! Sitting on a hill just outside Launceston in Cornwall we are delighted to welcome visitors from all over the world to our little piece of "paradise".
We were awarded a grant from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development in 2019, which helped me to build accessible toilets and a new workshop. Since I built my lovely new workshop, who would have thought this has been the second year that it’s been so impossible to carry on regular classes let alone overseas tutors who we have missed seeing so much. But we have carried on in a small way I love the classes and seeing everyone, thank you all so much for your tremendous support keep safe and let’s all look forward to a much improved 2022, we have some fabulous plans let’s hope they can happen. Our Shop
Our shop is stocked with top quality fabric supplied by Moda, Stoff, Rowan, Lecien, Ebor, Irish Linen and all types of wadding. Threads include Gutterman, Mettler, Aurafil, Cotton a Broder, Perle No. 8. We stock a wide variety of pins, needles, rulers and notions, in fact anything that you may desire.
We have a good selection of tutorial books, patchwork magazines and greetings cards, with many of the cards handmade by local artists. We stock pottery by Nicholas Mosse, Stephen & Jane Baughan and Brixton Pottery and have a small selection of quilts and handmade cushions on display. We are also agents for Bernina, the best and most precise sewing machine in the world.
Our Cafe
Our Cafe serves light lunches, cream teas, coffee and delicious cake. Special parties are catered for including unique country weddings and celebrations. We also hold special supper evenings, which take place throughout the year.
All the food prepared is as local and Organic as possible and we try our best to cater for those with special dietary requirements, we are happy to discuss individual needs. Every customer is special to us and we delight in making you happy and relaxed.
Dogs are not permitted in the cafe except guide dogs however we do have seating outside where they are welcome
Opening Times
The Shop and Cafe are open 7 days a week (except for approx 10 days over Christmas/ New Year).
Christmas 2024 We will be shutting at 4pm on Sunday 22nd December for Christmas and will be re-opening at 9am on Monday 6th January 2025.
