'I wish you could see the endless interpretations that have been made of this sweet quilt"

Margaret’s requirement lists are fairly loose!

For the basics:
For needle-turn Applique you require
Freezer paper
Sharp scissors small and medium
Scissors for paper cutting
Lead pencil and sharpener.
Frixion pen or Appliqué pencil
I use size 11 large-eye needles to Appliqué but you use what suits you!
Size 9 or 10 for basting.
I use basic beige ,cream ,and greeny grey thread to Appliqué. Again , use what makes you comfortable. I use Aurifil thread but that's a personal preference. I am not a fan of synthetic thread .....again that's a personal choice.
Do you have paper pieces available? If not just let me know and I will Bring them.
Fabrics
My fabric requirements are always fairly loose! Some people choose instinctively and some work with a definite palette.
You must be sure your basket contains small, medium and a few large geometric patterns.
Small medium and large florals. It is always good to throw in some spots and stripes as well as a few things you really really want to use which at this stage don't look quite right!! I love to use fabrics from all eras..... I mix vintage, repro, contemporary all in the same quilt. Bring small pieces.. you won't need yards and yards.
When you have chosen your fabrics it's time to choose a background. I always choose the background after I've decided on my fabric choices ( which can change as the quilt progresses of course!) if you are starting the Antique Sampler it looks stunning sewn on an old linen sheet. And it looks divine on linen printed with a subtle design. ( I'm thinking here of some of those gorgeous linens my friend Lois discovered at Cowslip!!)

“I am so excited to be doing this class Jo and I want everyone to work on what ever they want!!”
