Beginners Appliqué
Margaret has put together a special little “beginners booklet” with two bags and a little quilt! Plenty to get you hooked on appliqué! This workshop will also be suitable for those who are beyond beginners and are unable to attend Marg's Studio workshops.
“Paradiso Bag”
Front: one piece 18 ins X 20 ins
Back: Fabric to compliment front
Casing: 2 strips approx 2 ins x 18 ins
Top band: 2 strips approx 18 ins. X 4 ins.
Lining: 46 ins x 18 ins
Scraps for bird and other motifs
Pom-poms: ½ ins strips of Liberty or similar
Hexagon Bag
Lots of scraps, plus 1½ ins, or 2 ins hexagon papers.
“Dot a Day Quilt”
36 x 8 ½ inch squares
36 x 6 ins circles of contrast fabrics
12 ins of two different fabrics for inner borders
30 ins for two different fabrics for outer border
Equipment
For needle-turn Applique you require:
Freezer paper
Sharp scissors small and medium
Scissors for paper cutting
Lead pencil and sharpener.
Frixion pen or Appliqué pencil
I use size 11 large-eye needles to Appliqué but you use what suits you!
