Bernina Design Plus v7 to v8

If you have a Bernina sewing machine with an embroidery unit and the software DesignerPlus v7 or v8 you can create your own personal embroideries for quilts, pictures and a lot of other things like bags, purses, tea or coffee cosies. In this workshop we will go through all the basic steps of the software. You’ll learn how to work creatively with text, draw your own designs, make designs based on pictures or drawings that are loaded into the software and how to organise the sewing sequence. The software part of the workshop will be shown on my laptop and with a projector, so that everybody has a chance to see what is happening.www.yde.dk/

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

• your laptop with Bernina DesignerPlus v7 or v8 software and mouse and all relevant cables

• inspirational material; such as photos, scanned in images or drawings. Please make sure that you know

where your pictures are on your computer if you are planning to use them for personal designs. Make a        folder for your embroidery and pictures that is easy to find.

Optional:

• your Bernina sewing machine and embroidery unit and relevant cables and/or memory stick

• fabrics: if you bring your sewing machine and embroidery unit you’ll need fabric to try out on - hard to say

   how much and what type - guess

• thread; suitable for machine embroidery

• stabilzer; Stitch and Tear or other types - bring what you are used to work with
