Christmas House/Your House

Brenda is known for her Happy Quilts featuring colourful seaside scenes with lots of little houses. This time join Brenda to make a picture of a single house at Christmas (or another time of year). This can be your own house, your fantasy house or the one pictured above, measuring 18” x 14”, using a pattern created by Brenda in her naive style. 

Requirements list

A photograph or drawing of your house ( if not using Brenda’s pattern). It can be helpful to enlarge it, even if you lose some quality.

Fabric to suit your project including lots of scraps and ribbons, lace , buttons, beads etc (You don’t need to stick to cotton fabric; some shiny or sparkly fabrics can be effective, and Brenda will have some pieces available).

A piece of thin fabric for backing, like a piece from the back of a shirt.

A variety of threads including invisible and perhaps some metallic thread.

Bondaweb or similar

Felt for the base approx 20”x 20” and spare for practice stitching (felt can be bought from Brenda)

Scissors for paper and fabric

Sewing machine with ability to drop feed dogs. Manual for machine.

Embroidery/free motion Foot

Rotary cutter and mat

Optional mini iron and board
