Cushions Closures

£47.50

1 Day

Thu, 8th November, 2018

10:00am - 4:00pm

When you buy a cushion, they invariably have a zip running along one side edge on the back of the cushion. Practical but it’s oh, so boring. In this workshop we will make a variety of samples showing different ways to close the back of a cushion. I will show you how to make perfect piping in a variety of sizes, inserting zips in different ways. Lace up, loops, buttons, ties, and more. Rather than spending one day making one cushion, you will make all the above samples and will then have all the know-how to apply it to your own cushion designs. I will have finished cushions with me for you to see how effectively each Cushion Closure can enhance the back of the cushion to look as good as the front. This means the cushion effectively has two front sides and can be placed either side showing. If you have any unfinished cushions and you are struggling to know which way to finisho them, then you might like to bring them along to the workshop and get some ideas.

I am suggesting that we make up all samples in calico and some contrasting fabric, rather than using our best fabric but the choice is yours.
