Embroidered Garden or 3D Picture Birds

“I love the birds in my garden and each time a different species comes along I add it to my patchwork garden.”

Why not bring your patchwork background along and spend 2 days of relaxing hand sewing adding a garden bird, or two, to your own beautiful background.

These can be raised or flat and can be labeled (Sarah will bring her old typewriter with her)

Or create just a life like picture of your chosen bird.

Student requirements

• Images of the garden birds at the size you want them
• Patchwork or quilted background fabric or a piece of plain linen 
• Calico
• 4 and 6 inch embroidery hoop
• Stranded embroidery threads in appropriate colours
• Basic sewing kit to include fine sewing needles, scissors, thimble etc
• Small amount of cotton or wool wadding
• Fabric transfer pen or pencil
