10:00am - 4:00pm

Kate Toms is a 3D mixed media/textile artist who, over the years has created many fun characters, including ‘Flash’ the fairy.....Kate is also a published author/illustrator of a number of books for the very young.
During this workshop, you will make your very own ‘Fairy Flash’  from scratch.  Using a variety of techniques,  Kate will share with you her tips for ease of making super-skinny limbs, curly hair, painted detail etc.....at the end of this fun workshop,  you will have your very own heirloom fairy friend to keep or,  if you can bear to part with her, (which is unlikely) to give as a gift.  As everybody knows, a fairy is just the perfect companion at Christmas, or indeed, at any time of year..... it’s quite possible you may never look at a fairy in the same way again!!
All materials (including fairy dust, pre-cut wooden wings and wand) are supplied and included in the price of the workshop, although, if you so wish you could bring your own fabric scraps, beads, buttons, notions, threads etc. in order to personalise your fairy even further.  Some sewing experience an advantage.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
A basic sewing kit, including scissors for fabric.
A sewing machine in good working order (with white thread). Let your inner fairy fly!!

These lovely fairies were made during last year's workshop - a sample of what you will achieve!
