Floral Thread Painting

The two day course will show you how to use a photo, printed image or drawing and transfer it to fabric.

Various transfer techniques will be shown as well as how to create a pattern and template from a drawing from life.

Using my fine art technique not the traditional embroidery shading I will guide you through using thread to layer colours and create a work of art in thread.

Appliqué can be used also to mix with the thread so if you want to bring some scraps of fabric to play with too that would be wonderful.

The beautiful gardens surrounding the workshops will be the perfect inspiration for two days of total bliss with thread and like minded people.

No drawing skills are needed.

You will need:

• A piece of background fabric either plain linen or patterned depending on your taste. No bigger than A4.
• A mixture of threads in multiple colours, can be embroidery floss, linen, thread, wool.
• Needle, scissors etc.
• I will have a selection of my own to borrow too should you need extra.
• Flowers will be provided but you can bring your own image too if you wish.
• A light box will be available if you need it to transfer images to fabric.
