Indigo Shibori Dying

£130.00

2 Days

Mon, 21st June, 2021 to Tue, 22nd June, 2021

10:00am - 4:00pm

My name is Vivien Prideaux and I am excited to be able to share with you my lifelong knowledge and expertise of Indigo dyeing and Shibori.
Welcome to a fascinating world of wars, tradition, customs and exquisite hues of indigo blues!

Over the two days we will work through the basics of Shibori - stitching, folding, clamping and pole wrapping and dye the samples in the Indigo zinc-lime vat.
We will look at other methods of reducing indigo for dyeing.
This will give you a very good grounding of both Shibori and Indigo and allow you to develop your own style to use within your work after the workshop.

I have shortened the Student requirement list - I ask you bring natural cloths you already have!
