Paint into Stitch: May Flowers

£140.00

2 Day Workshop

Mon, 6th April, 2020 to Tue, 7th April, 2020

10:00am - 4:00pm

A two-day workshop creating an embroidery featuring the flowers of May - bluebells, lily of the valley and apple blossom, all combined in a new design. The design is a surprise but wiil offer an opportunity to enjoy painting on linen with silk paints, an absolute joy for which you need no painting talent or experience whatsoever, before adding embroidery. As well as the piece of linen with the design, we will have a small test ’sampler’ with all the flowers so we can practise the stitches before moving on to the design proper. We will also have a small screen of a bluebell wood to work with, giving you plenty off painting and stitching to do over the two days. We will take care to capture the elusive colour of bluebells, both in paint and threads, all of which will be provided the course should give you the skills to observe a real power and translate it into both paint and embroidery. The course is suitable for beginners and more experienced stitchers alike but if you are a beginner you will enjoy the course more if you have a look at my Favourite Stitches cards, which you can download free of charge at www.carolinezoob.co.uk.
