From Paint into Stitch: Wild Flowers

Working with pieces of antique linen screen printed with different wild flowers, we will experiment with silk paints, watercolours, inks and gouache and then stitch to create an image of wild flowers. Very much a mixed media day exploring different techniques and ways to add stitching.

The course fee includes materials and one screen printed piece of linen (you can choose). Extra screen printed pieces will be available to buy on the day if you want to take more home to try. 

You do not need any painting or stitching ability, although you may discover some on the day! 

Student Requirements
A few embroidery needles - I find the pink John James pebbles Cowslip sells are perfect.

A 5” or 6” embroidery hoop

A pincushion - we change threads frequently

A pair of small, sharp embroidery scissors

A notebook and pencil

A friction pen

An apron

A sewing machine (if wanting to use & please make sure it has been recently PAT tested) with feed dogs down and free motion embroidery foot, and a few machine needles( essential)
