Every Tuesday Morning

10:00am - 12:30pm

Designs, tips and techniques including buttons, zips, ric rac making different Christmas designs which can be used for cushions, tablerunner or quilt.  Overlap back fastenings, pie-crust bolster and button edge are amongst some techniques we can explore. Snowmen, Christmas trees, angels or holly whatever you imagine as Christmas we can turn into a cosy project. Bring your Christmas fabrics and be inspired or see what is on offer you might make more than one project.
 STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
·       Scrap bag or wide selection of washed cotton fabrics according to students’ taste.... plaids, checks, etc, work very well, but especially Christmas fabrics that you’ve had stashed away! This is an ideal way to use up small pieces, but one piece of fabric needs to be big enough for back of cushion
·       Button jar, decorative threads, such as cotton perlé, stranded embroidery thread, ribbon
·       Basic sewing kit, to include large needle for cotton perlé sewing threads, etc
·       Rotary cutting equipment if available, if not we can provide
·       Fabric and paper scissors, rotary cutting equipment, if available
·       .50cms of 2oz wadding, calico or lining fabric (for piecrust cushion)
·       Template material (plastic or card), bondaweb, cushion pad (if available)
·       Sewing machine in good working order with instruction book  ¼” and walking foot if available
