A wonderful opportunity to spend the day, or even two making a handmade journal.
Your journal could be themed or just a collection of treasured memories.
You may want to record an event such as a wedding, new baby or your travels, if you are a keen gardener you could reference your achievements. The chance to make a truly unique keepsake.

Your journal could be made from recycled materials or completely new, there are no rules, so dig into your stash.
You will be shown how to select and organise your papers, create a cover and sew in your signature.

Student requirements:

There is a choice of two sizes 9 x 6.25 or 6.25 x 4.5 inches.

You will be supplied the base for your cover.

Any type of paper - wrapping paper, book pages (text and pictures), music, scrapbooking paper pads, plain, lined and grid. Old maps.
Pages from story books or poems.
Handmade papers and tissue.
Brown parcel paper.
Old Postcards or greetings cards
Fabric, can be used for the cover or to create a page
Paper napkins for decoupage
Doilies
Old lace
Buttons and charms
Envelopes - Old mail envelopes can be reused
Coin envelopes make lovey seed packets
Old cereal boxes or any card packaging
Paper bags
Any images printed out - many free images can be found online and these can be used as pages or making cards etc. (Please be aware of copyright)
Images from magazines.
Glue stick and good quality PVA glue & brush
Double sided tape
Rubber stamps, ink pads and stencils
Ribbon, ric rac and string - baker twine
Fabric pieces
Paper clips
Hole punch
Paper and fabric scissors, ruler, pencil
Strong binding thread such as waxed linen thread or bakers twine can be used

The following is handy if you already have them but not essential:
Bulldog clips, awl, paper trimmer
Sewing machine - I like to stitch my papers but this is not essential - some people don’t like to use their machines on paper
