Tea Cup Thread Painting

£140.00

2 Days

Sat, 13th April, 2019 to Sun, 14th April, 2019

10:00am - 4:00pm

With your image or cup chosen you will learn how to make a pattern to transfer to your fabric.

The darker the pattern or fabric the harder it is to transfer so thats worth baring in mind when bring your materials.

Then using your selections of thread I will teach you how I create my thread paintings in my fine art technique.

We will spend two lovely relaxing days stitching up a storm and putting our inspiration to good use in the form of tea drinking.

The beautiful ceramics produced and sold at Cowslip are a perfect inspiration for our masterpieces.

You will need:

A piece of fabric to use as a background, no bigger than A4.

I use a mixture of plain linen and patterned fabric as a base so bring a few choices if you're not sure.

A nice selection of threads, in lots of textures, wool, linen, silk, cotton, whichever you fancy.

A favourite mug or tea cup, or an image of one you would like to recreate.

Basic sewing supplies, i.e scissors, needles etc will be available but you may prefer your own.

A light box, tracing paper and transfer materials will be available to use or buy if you wish. A simple pencil is enough.
