Kate Toms

I tap into childhood memory, a love of animals and everyday observation for inspiration, aiming to engage and amuse the observer.  Over the past fifteen years I have supplied various galleries with my work as well as selling directly at retail shows.  Pieces vary in construction; I use a variety of materials and techniques including cloth, leather, wood, wire, hand/free machine stitch, print and, most recently, needle felting. I love to incorporate found items within my work. 
I have also enjoyed work as an author/illustrator of many books for the very young.
