Embroidery for Beginners
This is a workshop for anyone who is new to hand embroidery and who would like to spend the day learning the basics. In the morning I will teach several basic stitches, giving you plenty of time to practise. Your stitches will form pages which can be made into a little sampler book for you to refer to at home. In the afternoon you will start on an embroidery, based on the stitches you have learnt. I will give you an autumnal picture for you to start stitching on, based on one of the embroideries from my journal “A country diary of a Lizzybethan lady.” At the end of the day I will give you ideas on how you can finish off and present your embroidery.
This is one of three workshops that I had to postpone in the autumn. If you intend to come to more than one workshop, the format of the day will be the same but I will be teaching different stitches and you will have a different picture to work on.
