Gillian has always enjoyed working with fabric; making her clothes and soft furnishings. Whilst working for an upholsterer she started making modern shades in all shapes and sizes but wasn’t happy until she learnt how to make traditional hand sewn shades. After much searching, she found a teacher in Bristol who taught her how to cover bowed-empire and pleated shades. She loves passing her knowledge on to others and seeing the vibrant fabrics they use, to transform a traditional shade into a modern piece of home décor.
