Katherine Miles

Local willow artist Katherine Miles has had a deep interest in the natural environment since her childhood.
 
She studied Environmental Science and Animal Ecology at university and spent much of her spare time creating animal sculptures from clay and resin.
 
After attending a willow weaving workshop in Lewes, Sussex some years ago, her imagination was captured by the endless possibilities of this truly amazing plant.
 
Katherine’s real love is creating life size (or larger) animals and observing the individual characters come alive as she weaves. 
 
She weaves animals and other sculptural pieces mainly by commission for the home and garden. She also holds regular weaving workshops in Moretonhampstead.
