Christmas House

Brenda is known for her Happy Quilts featuring colourful seaside scenes with lots of little houses. This time join Brenda to make a picture of a house at Christmas. This can be your own house, your fantasy house or one using a pattern created by Brenda in her naive style. The picture above is one of Brenda’s own cottage at Christmas and gives an idea of what can be done.

Requirements list

A photograph or drawing of your house ( if not using Brenda’s pattern). It can be helpful to enlarge it, even if you lose some quality.

Fabric to suit your project including lots of scraps and ribbons, lace , buttons etc

A piece of thin fabric for backing, like a piece from the back of a shirt.

A variety of threads including invisible and perhaps some metallic thread.

Bondaweb or similar

Felt for the base and spare for practice stitching (felt can be bought from Brenda)

Scissors for paper and fabric

Sewing machine with ability to drop feed dogs. Manual for machine. Embroidery Foot

Rotary cutter and mat

Optional mini iron and board
