Embroidered and appliquéd illustrations - Jessie Chorley

Join designer, maker and shop owner Jessie Chorley for a special two day embroidery and appliqué. Workshop to create your own hand stitched illustrations. Jessie will be visiting from her shop and studio on Columbia Rd, London. She will have a display or recent hand stitched illustrations with her to inspire, as she starts this 2 day workshop with a talk about her working process as an embroidered, collector and shop owner. Jessie will demonstrate how she uses her needle and thread both as her drawing tool, and also to hold in place found and fragmented items that she collects. She will also demonstrate her own unique way of patching and appliqué techniques using small fabric scraps and found items. I work with a limited colour pallet and use simple fabrics usually cut from found items of clothing or everyday homeware thus adding to the narrative of my final pieces. I will be providing you at the start of the workshop with a simple kit that will include a hand printed template.
Price for kit £5.00 per person payable to Jessie on the day.

* Something to share with the group…Odd fabrics or other textile related items. Its always inspiring to share and use other people scraps in this environment.
