Now that April's there...
Celebrate the joys of Spring with a day of pure hand embroidery (with a little optional painting) stitching an original design by Caroline. Branches with newly unfurled leaves, blossom in bud, and nesting birds. Caroline will bring a screen print on antique linen with a gap for you to choose between a thrush and a blackbird. A day of pure hand embroidery, and perfect for those who have done some embroidery with Caroline before, although beginners are always welcome.
Student Requirements
A few embroidery needles - I find the pink John James pebbles Cowslip sells are perfect.
A 5” - 6” embroidery hoop
A pincushion - we change threads frequently
A pair of small, sharp embroidery scissors
A notebook and pencil
A friction pen
An apron (we may do some painting)
Those of you familiar with Caroline’s workshops will know that she brings with her a generous selection of precious vintage textiles to use in the workshops, and makes her collection of vintage and new threads for both machine and hand stitching available to all at a cost of £5 payable to Caroline on the day. You may of course bring and use your own materials if you prefer.
