Poetry in Motion
Poetry in Motion is a traditional bed quilt made using machine pieced 9 patch blocks and Ohio Stars with different shading layouts.
Helen will teach you how to cut out and construct the Ohio Stars and then how to lay them out to create the wonderful shading effect that transforms this quilt.
This is a 2 day workshop with a weeks sewing time between each day.
Requirements:
This quilt could be made by sorting your fabric stash into light, medium and dark colours to make as a scrap quilt or alternatively you can use the following selected colours:
- 6 x Dark Grey Fat 1/8ths
- 6 x White/light Fat 1/8ths
- 12 x Light/medium grey Fat 1/8ths
- 12 x Pink/peach Fat 1/8ths
- Basic sewing kit, to include large needle for cotton perlé sewing threads, etc
- Rotary cutting equipment if available, if not we can provide
- Fabric and paper scissors
- Sewing machine, recently PAT tested, in good working order with instruction book ¼” and walking foot if available
