Stool Making

Join Ian Graham from @thewoodlandstore at Cowslip Workshops for a day learning about hand woodworking tools and techniques.  The course is aimed at complete beginners who would like to know more and want to have a go at using traditional woodworking hand tools.  The day will involve shaping the stool legs seat, using a drawknife, rounding plane, chisels and saws.  It is a hands on day and will require some hand and upper body strength.

The day will begin at 0930 with coffee in the barn and a basic introduction to each of the tools.  You will then be able to have a go at bringing the components of a stool together over the course of the day.  We will aim to stop for lunch, which can be taken at Cowslip Café for an hour, before resuming to finish at 1600.  By then you will have hopefully completed your stool ready to take home with you.  All materials and tools will be provided for you to use on the day at cost of £30 payable to the tutor.  The only thing you will need to bring is a pair of safety glasses that will be compulsory to wear during the course.
