Huswif Salem Pattern

Designed by Maggie Bonanomi
Approx. 4.5″ x 10.5″
Pattern ONLY
The 18th and 19th century huswif is a rather a compact sewing kit which contained pockets that held sewing tools and accoutrements. It was small in size and used by both men and women of all classes. The huswif sewing kit was usually made from fabric scraps of linen, wool and cotton and edged in twill tape.
Maggie used “Salem” Hand Dyed Linen for the background and scraps of antique & new fabrics for the inside bits.  Have fun creating your Huswif!
