Join Alison on this two day workshop where you will create your very own unique textile art

seascape measuring 14” x 10”, using a wide variety of textiles and free motion machine embroidery.

Alison will provide hands-on assistance, advice and demonstrations throughout, but some previous

experience of this technique is advised.

Learn about composition and perspective, how to chose and incorporate materials based on their

weight, colour and pattern, and how to add interest and detail to your work with the use of hand

stitching and embellishments.

ALL FABRICS AND EMBELLISHMENTS PROVIDED.

Requirements list

• A sewing machine that is adaptable for free motion stitching (you should be able to drop the

feed dogs or have a plate to fit over the top of them so that they disengage). Please bring the

manual if you have it.

• Free motion / darning foot either open or closed toe that is compatible with your sewing

machine.

• A couple of spare bobbins that fit your machine.

• Size 75 or 80 embroidery machine needles.

• Basic sewing kit, to include a large and small pair of scissors.

• Reel of invisible thread suitable for use on a sewing machine (this can be purchased from

me on the day).

• White bobbin thread (this can be purchased from me on the day).

• A basic selection of coloured threads in coastal colours.

• Frixion (heat erasable pen).
